Tropical Christmas

Christmas came to Uganda! Even though there was no snow.  It was awesome because we got the Lego Movie set we have been waiting for: Lord Business' Office Tower! We got a swing set, new sand in our sandbox, and a bunch of Ninja Turtles.

Some of the things that are the same about Christmas in Uganda are:

  • we still get presents
  • we have a Christmas tree
  • we have Christmas stockings
  • we made a gingerbread house
  • we celebrated with yummy food with people we care about.
  • we celebrated Jesus' birth

Some of the things that are different about Christmas in Uganda are:

  • there is no snow
  • it is HOT outside
  • we didn't have Grammy's hershey kiss cookies
  • we didn't have dinner with grandparents and cousins.
  • we got a whole month off of school for Christmas break

First Day of School

We started school at Heritage International School last Thursday.  It was fun to see our old friends, like Jabriel, Anna, and Ethan.  We were glad we didn't have homework our first two days of school!

Bow and Arrow

One day Paddy, our day guard, showed us how to shoot a bow and arrow.  You put the arrow in the bow, put it against the string, pull back with two fingers, aim and let it go.

We like hanging out with Paddy. -Caleb

Home, Sweet, Uganda

The first plane ride was boring, because we had barely any TV time.  Mommy wanted us to sleep- but I could barely do it.  We got to the London airport and there was a kids place to play in.  And we brought Legos.  The next flight was awesome, because we could watch as much as we wanted. I watched Robots, and The Lego Movie.

When we first got to our house I was so glad to see our dog, Siddeley.  The mangoes are delicious.  So are our homemade popsicles and the pineapples.  -Seth

Passport!

One of the fun things about being a missionary kid is having a passport!  We get more stamps in our passports before we're twelve than a lot of people get in a life-time.

Elizabeth has her passport now.  She is officially a missionary kid now :)

We just got back from Elizabeth's first road-trip and she did awesome.  We are so glad she didn't cry the whole time proud of her!  She is going to be a great little world traveler!

The Lego Movie

On Monday we got to see the Lego Movie while Mommy had some time with her friends.  On the Lego Movie Emmet is told to save the world from Lord Business.  The day after that Seth and I had a great idea.  We could make the Lego Movie characters out of plain, old Legos! My favorite character is Benny because I like blue and he likes blue. You should go see the Lego Movie.  Everything was awesome!   -Caleb, age 7

The Lego Movie was good.  My favorite character is Emmet because he is the Special.  -Seth, age 5

Missing Uganda...

The thing I miss the most from Uganda is Siddely, our dog.  I liked playing with him.  My daddy and I used to play a game with Siddely- the game was hide and seek.  And Siddely had to find me! I wonder how big he will be when we get back.  When he gets older and older, he will get calmer and calmer.  But when he was first new he was really playful!   -Seth

Another thing we miss is the church with all the steps.  I think there are 30 hundred steps!  It's great because this church is at a school, so there are desks where we can color during church!  And we loved to spin and dance around in the back of church during the music.  I love to show Mr. Edwin my colorings after church is over.  One thing we don't really like about big church is having to shake everyone's hands!  And Mommy and Daddy stand around after church talking to everybody and everybody-but we just go out and wait on the balcony.  -Caleb

Meet My Sister

This is Elizabeth.  She was born on December 19, 2013 at 7:45am.  She was 7lbs and 7oz.

For her nickname I think we'll call her Little Bit.  She is cute and fun.  She has big blue eyes and lots of hair.  She is starting to smile.  I like to get her her pacifier and choose her head bands.  I love her.

My Bike

When I first came back to America I got a new bike.  It's red, and I got a new Cars 2 helmet.  It goes really fast.  I like riding it around the neighborhood.  I don't have to ride on the road; I can ride on the sidewalk.

Snow!

The other day we were going sledding and on the way, when we were finding a good spot we made snow angels.  The snow is awesome.  In Uganda there is no snow- but in America we are having LOTS of snow!
